Choose Your Grant
For Early Career Researchers
Designed for outstanding scientists who have recently completed their doctorate. This grant offers the freedom to pursue an independent research project at a Berlin university.
The Einstein Postdoctoral Grant enables outstanding postdocs at different career stages (R2 to R3) to conduct independent research or to receive support during the final steps toward a professorship appointment.
To be eligible, candidates must have completed their doctoral degree at least four years prior to submitting their application. The funding period generally lasts up to four years.
For Distinguished Researchers
The program gives top-level international scientists the opportunity to establish a research group at a Berlin institution — fostering lasting collaborations and shaping the local research landscape.
In contrast to typical visiting fellows who stay at an institution for one term, the goal of the Einstein Visiting Fellowship is to integrate researchers into Berlin’s science community on a sustainable basis.
The program thus enables the Berlin universities and Charité – Universitätsmedizin to establish long term
collaborations with the Einstein Visiting Fellow’s home institution.
The funding period lasts up to four years and has a volume of up to €750,000.
